This one is from the forums and is a quick thought.
It was mentioned on 9 to 5 Mac that one analyst is saying that Apple will change the logo on the back of the Retina laptops. Given that the glowing apple has become as common place as rectangle phones, changing it would make it clear to people that a new computer was being used and not one from 10 years ago.
Then I had a though. Looking at the invite for the event, the Apple logo is a multi coloured line. Then it hit me: What if that line was a bunch of LEDs?
The colours could be used for notifications, as that’s something that’s become a big part of OS X 10.9 and 10.10. You could also customise it to your liking, adding a little individual flare to your mac? The rainbow logo has also been gone for quite some time, perhaps it can make a comeback this way?
So, with that in mind, I’ve mocked up a little sample video to see how it looks. This is totally ‘pie in the sky’ stuff and may never happen, but at least, it’s an idea and now it’s out there. All will become clear on the 16th of October.
